Subject: Re: Scotland-Eilean Donan Castle
Jim and Kathleen,

Eilean Donan castle is very impressive and it is beautifully sited at the junction of two lochs. We stayed at a nice small hotel just across the bridge from the castle in Sept 1991--the Loch Duich Hotel. I checked and they have a website now ( It's not too far from Inverness and would probably take less than 2 hrs to drive from Inverness. The road follows Loch Ness for part of the way and you might want to stop at Urquhart Castle. We were traveling with a Highlands and Islands Travelpass good for trains, ferries, and many buses in western Scotland. (I think it's called the Freedom of Scotland pass now.) We went to the hotel by bus from Kyle of Lochalsh, stayed overnight (the castle is lighted and quite beautiful), then took the bus on to Inverness the next morning. Angie in KS
