|Subject: London, Scotland, Paris|
We are looking for some advice and recommendations. Also so timing issues as well.
We have purchased tickets to London on Nov. 7 and will arrive on the 8th. We have a return flight on Nov. 22. Here are our tentative plans. Feedback would be appreciated.
We plan on staying 5 days in London. Hopefully this is enough for a first time, overview trip. Anything beyond the normal stuff we should look into? We are staying at the Morgan Hotel in Bloomsbury and will take in a few West End theater performances so we will be centrally located.
On our 6th day we plan on heading to Scotland by train. Tentatively we will go to Edinburgh early on that day and spend one day and one night there before we head to Inverness and then by coach on to the Eileen Donan Castle (my bride's ancestral home). We will spend one night there and then return to Edinburgh for the next night.
The next morning we want to take an EARLY train to London where we will catch the Chunnel train to Paris. We will spend the rest of our time in Paris. We plan to rise early on the 22nd, catch the Chunnel train back to London and then on to Heathrow for a 2:00 pm flight to the US. (Is this doable or should we train to London on the 21st?)
We are looking for general comments on the trip?
We are looking for recommendations on hotels for Edinburgh and Paris. With both something in the 100 euro/140 pounds a night range. Our highest priority is ensuite bath facilities and a central location so we can walk everywhere.
We would love to hear about restaurant recommendations in all three places as well as outside the norm visits we should make or places we might have on our agenda already but things about them we would not know to look for.
This is what Ziners do best, so I hope you are able to come through for us again like you did last year when we went to Italy.
