Subject: Re: Suggestion for Paris accommodation
Dear Diane,

I didn't get the original post so I don't know when you'll be in Paris, but we go for 10 days for our anniversary every December (before the Christmas push in Europe) and we really like this hotel for it's location (1/2 block from Odeon metro), it's buffet breakfasts - plentiful and excellent, and it's shower/baths.

The rooms can be small, although last year we got a large double which was much better and we requested a grand lit sort of queen, king with a filler in the middle. The reception is helpful and friendly, but not like what one would expect in a larger hotel. We like the people who have worked there over the years. They are listed in the Small Hotels of Charm book... Also, it's location is truly the best if you like to come and go at all hours and stay out late -- It's always bustling w/ activity.

We are leaving for vacation tomorrow in Idaho but it's be glad to help when we return on Aug 17th if I can be of further help. Good luck. Here is the write-up from my travel journal on TheTravelzine:

Hotel -- We returned to the Left Bank St-Germain (***) 9, rue de l'Ancienne Comedie -tel: 01 43 54 01 70 (with an 800-528-1234- in the USA). This is a Best Western property - and, if necessary, we could cancel up until 4 hrs before arrival - or something close to that. The location is fabulous and we got a larger double this year with an alcove, facing the courtyard and the bathroom (excellent shower/baths) and double sinks are wonderful. Breakfast comes with the room and is plentiful!!! This property is next door to the Procope restaurant and we would return again... next year, we hope. Our rate was 120Euros/day with breakfast for two (a special) -- couldn't beat that!
