Subject: Visit to Sydney
Hi Spencer

Just a few more ideas for your trip to Sydney.

In August/September it can be quite cool so bring some warm clothes. (I don't think you'll be swimming at Bondi!)

I my opinion the best hotel in Sydney is the Park Hyatt at Circular Quay/The Rocks. It is in arguably the best position in the city. Right on the harbour, just across from the Opera House, almost under the Bridge. It's low rise so whenever we've stayed there we've been able to sit out on our balcony enjoying the view, people watching and just taking in the whole atmosphere of the area. It is also within walking distance of all the major city attractions.

As everyone else has already mentioned, the Harbour Bridge climb is a must. So is a ferry trip to Taronga Park Zoo and Doyle's Restaurant at Watsons Bay. Doyles at Circular Quay is ok, but the original restaurant at Watsons Bay is superb.

One other suggestion. A train trip to Wollongong or Kiama on the South Coast. It takes about 90 minutes from Sydney Central Station. Trains leave every hour and the view as you travel down the coastline is spectacular. In either town you can spend a few hours visiting the beaches and boat harbour plus there are a number of good cafes and restaurants for lunch. The cost for a return ticket is less than $20 AUD.

Hope you enjoy your stay downunder.
