|Subject: Chicago in October|
Hi Ziners in and around Chicago,
We will be in Chicago in October for the Marathon and we need
suggestions on what to see and where to eat. We're staying at the
House of Two Urns (http://www.twourns.com/). I hope this is a good
spot - if Ziners know otherwise, please let me know; however it's
really difficult to find a place during Marathon weekend so I hope I
don't hear too many negatives. We are two couples who spend a lot of
our time eating great food and tasting wonderful wines whenever we
can. So, I am looking for suggestions on where to eat and what to
see. We all love to walk, savour art so museums are at the top of the
list, and we generally enjoy wandering in city neighbourhoods.
Are there local markets (food or otherwise) that we can visit? Also, does anyone have suggestions for books set in Chicago, either in the present or in the past, that we should pick up to enhance our visit?
I'll check out the web of course, but any insider information would be appreciated. Lucy in Toronto
