Subject: House rental in Italy
Ziners, Here's the address of the agency we used to rent a house in Italy last year. Some of you may find it useful

We found ourselves in a charming old restored farmhouse sitting (literally) in the middle of fields. The house we stayed in is in San Casciano dei Bagni (the town dates from the Etruscan era), three bedrooms, three bathrooms, with a pool for $1450 (U.S.) per week, less if you stay for a longer period. With three couples, that's a bargain and a whole lot cheaper than staying in a hotel. The town is close to everything you will want to visit in Tuscany and Umbria, and some places you would never have thought you'd want to visit. The town has a restaurant, two grocery stores, a pharmacy and a pizzeria and is close to a number of other villages for eating out. On two occasions, the owner showed up to cut the lawn and bring us linen supplies.

I have found that booking through the web has been easy and generally positive. In all cases, the booking agencies ask for my phone number and we have ended up speaking on the phone. It's reassuring. Lucy
