Subject: Re: Tofino or Ucluelet, B.C.
Hi Ziners,

In reply to Kathy from PA, I would suggest Tofino over Ucluelet, as the latter is just a logging town. Tofino has most of the tourist industry.

Although I live in Victoria, I can't really recommend any place to stay as our visitors always stay with us. There are lots of B& B's downtown. For eating, my husband and I enjoy the Yokohama on Blanshard St., if you like Japanese food, or Il Terrazzo, which is an Italian place. There is also a fairly good Thai restaurant and some reasonable Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. Don Mee's is the best place for Dim Sum at lunch time. If you have a car, the Blues Bayou in Brentwood has great seating outdoors overlooking the Saanich Inlet. For a more expensive restaurant with a good view and excellent food, I recommend Dunsmuir Lodge on McTavish Road, near the airport; reservations are essential for this one.
