Subject: Re: Eating in Blois? |
Hi, Several times we have made Blois our base for
visiting the Chateaux de la Loire region. It is
town we like very much.
We have stayed in a number of different places, the last time in a Mercure Hotel by the river, (a modern place with a pool, I suppose it is the one you will be staying). The hotel is ok but we found the food in their restaurants both expensive and bad. We made the mistake of eating there upon arrival late in the evening. The good places we tried as I recall are La Péniche, and less expensive Bouchon Lyonnais, and the Rendezvous the Pecheurs. In town there are a lot of casual places to eat. I hope you like Blois as much as we do, the Chateau has all those charming little corners and details to be discovered as the Francois I staircase, Catarina de Medici´s hidden little closet and the ever-present salamandre of Francois I. The sound and light show at the Chateau is very good too. Graziella, Miami Beach |
