You are taking the perfect trip for a visit to Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright's amazing home that he built for Edgar Kaufmann, a department store magnate in Pittsburgh. The house cantilevers over Bear Run (the stream that runs beneath the house) in a phenomenal integration of architecture with its surroundings. A poll of the Americian Institute of Architects voted it the best all-time work of American architecture.
Fallingwater is about a 90 minute drive southeast from Pittsburgh. You should have advance reservations before you drive out because their tours do fill up. You can find all the information at http://www.wpconline.org/fallingwaterhome.htm
If you are lucky, you will see it as I did during the rain which brings a special meaning to Fallingwater.
Have a great trip!
