Hi Jerry and Ziners...

We had a memorable experience in 2000 at two Agritourism sites as well as a very reasonable B&B in Rome and highly recommend them!

Those unfamiliar with same will be interested to learn that the AgriTourism concept provides an opportunity for tourist stays in a rural cottage/farmhouse to experience the atmosphere (some working farms; others more resort-like)..may offer meals or accommodations with cooking facilities.

GREEN FARM...Pisa Nord Exit A-12 in Migliarino tel/fax 050.890671 Email: GreenFarm@ (close space after @) Just outside of Pisa this renovated farmhouse is run by an American-Christine and her Italian husband-Ermanno, personable, interesting and accommodating.. We had a lovely upstairs room overlooking the barnyard with animals roaming about; breakfast included, reasonable rate. A great locale for day trips to Cinque Terra/Pisa/Lucca/Montecatini Terme (which we had more time there) Alto Terme/the Marble Caves and other areas of interest

RIPA BUIA, THE ANCHINI FARM, Website in Italian but go to or another translation site to clarify. Altho we went thru an agency, you may now go direct for much better rates than we paid. The site shows its location and proximity to Tuscany attractions.

INEXPENSIVE and DELIGHTFUL!! We had a 1 BR apt with kitchen (first pix on left when you click the sunflower)in the tiny village of Marcialla, between Florence and Siena. Owners Bruna and Ardenio are very friendly (son speaks English)and it was fun watching the grape crush for the onsite production of wine (also olive oil).

Altho we were driving, we followed advice and drove 10 minutes to Tavernelle to bus into Florence, a good move!! also toured Siena before heading down further into Tuscany.

SUNFLOWER B& direct (tho we didn't know to) at Tel/Fax 06.42821974..via Calabria 17, walking distance to Via Veneto, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain.. and on a bus route. Located on the 4th floor of a large building, the first 3 floors house Hotel Priscilla at MUCH higher rates! We still exchange Christmas greetings with Lucia LoRusso and hubby Melo Massabo (a daughter speaks English and Melo was learning)..VERY CLEAN!! and Reasonable too.

If you get to any of these spots, please tell them Domenico and Lucia (our Italian names) sent you!

If anyone is interested in our Looooooooong Notes/Tips/Hints/Websites of our 32 day trip (thru Tuscany, thermal Saturnia baths, over to the Adriatic, then Rome), please let me know.

Happy Traveling! Lucille M Gioello, West Hartford, Ct.
