|Subject: Re: Collioure, France Travelogue|
Hello John and Ziners,
John, I loved reading your Travelogue about Collioure. I am not in the position of being able to travel right now as I've recently relocated to Wyoming for a new job, but I hope that someday I will be able to enjoy the area you have described.
My question is actually about travelogues. When do you write such wonderful things? When I'm planning trips, even in the US, I tell myself I'm going to write all about it. However, once I'm in motion and on the road, I never seem to find the time to write. I want to get the most experience I can out of the new places I'm seeing. It seems like there is hardly time to sleep, much less write, when I'm in the midst of new surroundings. And then when I return home, the spirit of the place is not around me so I don't feel like I can be very descriptive. I admire your discipline for writing, and I'm wondering if you'd be willing to share your secret for writing travelogues with this group.
Sincerely, Barbara Rawlins, WY, USA
