Subject: Re: Trip to Italy - Cinque Terre / Venice
Hey Maria, I was in the Cinque Terre this time last year. Early September is the best time to travel in my books. The weather was still beautiful, there were a LOT less tourists. It was a great time. As far as where to stay in the Cinque Terre, it depends on what you want. Monterrosso and Vernazza are more touristy and 'flashy' than the other 3. I personally like quiet so we stayed in Riomaggiore, and did not regret it one bit. The next time I would like to stay in Corniglia, the quietest of the 5. depends on what you like. All I can say is the views are utterly spectacular. I took some beautiful pics.. and as I was taking them I was saying to my girlfriend that no matter how nice the pictures turn out.... you can NEVER capture the true beauty of actually being there. Of all the places I've been so far, the Cinque Terre is by far the most spectacular. Maybe I can top that this week as I'm off to cycle the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. Enjoy the Cinque Terre and let me know if you think I've exaggerated.

Happy travels Gary in Montreal
