Subject: Re: Photographic film

The checked-luggage x-ray machines will ruin your film, from what I understand. I always carry my film with me, easily accessible. I don't carry my film in the plastic canisters, only in a baggie. Before I get to the x-ray area I take the baggie with the film in it out of my carry-on. I have had the inspectors (in the US and in Amsterdam) insist that the film itself MUST be x-rayed. I'm not happy when they do that, but so far it hasn't ruined my pictures. If someone knows the official rights that the public has concerning film, I'd be very interested in knowing what those rights are.
