Subject: Re: Italian train booking
Hello Felice

the phone number for Trenitalia (892021) is accessible from Italy only. Other Ziners in the past had the same problem and the answer is always the same: why don't you make the reservation after arriving in Italy? You can do it at any railway station and at many tourist agencies (no fee). Reservation can be made up to a few hours before departure of the train (I'm not sure how many since I'm not a frequent train traveller). You could have some trouble only on peak times i.e. Christmas, Easter and August, or with trains with restricted spaces (sleeping coaches, Eurostar) on very busy lines and fewer daily departures. One little tip: you're easier to find free places on first class than on second class. Keep that in mind if you are in trouble. Bye
