|Subject: Re: Hotel - Melbourne, Australia|
I visited Genolan Caves in Feb 2003 & I enjoyed the visit & wished I could have explored a couple of the other caves in the area. But everyone knows I'm a sucker for whatever site of wonder there is on offer wherever I am! Altho Genolan compares to Carlsbad Cavern in New Mexico, each is unique. I've not seen the caves you mention in Iceland or NZ, but if in France it's the Lascaux caves, Les Eyzies or caves of the Dordogne, Genolan is very different because of the much more minimal human habitation.
OTOH, the caves are at the end of a fairly long access road, so it makes sense to spend as much time at the caves as possible.
