Hi Ziners,
Tom's posting on his Scottish visit was interesting-always nice to read a report on a visit to my homeland!
But I do take issue with one statement that the Scots speak
Gaelic this should read some Scots speak- It is rarely spoken
outside the Western Isles and parts of the north west mainland.
Never have I heard it pronounced garlic but I guess it is all
in the ear of the listener
I was amused at the comments re sheep!!!
We really must get our act together in the Scottish hospitality
industry-all too often I have read reports of the sort of
treatment he received in that restaurant! It happens to us natives
as well, I do wish that some hotel/restaurant owners would take
some lessons from the USA hospitality industry.
Now down off my soapbox!!
Regards,
Elma
