Dear Stefano,
The whole region is wonderful - and... if you have the time and a car, you
might consider going west a bit further into the Alpujarra area to see the old
Moorish White Villages - It's a terrific area and I could recommend places to
stay if you decide to go.
If visiting Seville, we stayed (many years ago and for much less money than the cost is now), 20 min away by car at the Casa de Carmona. This is one of those very, very special places (an old manor house) that one seldom sees. The people who were employed there were wonderful and the rooms, etc are really dreamy!!! The village of Carmona is a walled town. The website is: http://www.casadecarmona.com/ (I see from their website that this is now a Relais & Chateaux property... so I don't know if it's changed, but it's worth getting a brochure from them) We stayed in a duplex room with a wonderful living room, bath with the most romantic bedroom upstairs with wonderful bath! (We didn't eat there but we ate at a tiny, terrific restaurant in the village that the staff recommended - and also in Seville. The hotel has everything and even though it looks formal, it is not!) Good luck, Susie Newton, MA |
