Subject: Re: Roundabouts and traffic circles |
Hi George,
About Portugal and roundabouts, there is nowadays an epidemic of roundabouts. They are being built everywhere. In most small villages you now have a roundabout with a fountain in its middle, in the entrance. I understand the main reason is to reduce speed and avoid traffic lights, although there are roundabouts with traffic lights in the most crowded areas in Lisbon. The right-of-way in the roundabouts with two or more lines, if the cars are already inside, is the car which is on your right, not the one closest to the center. The right of way is the cars already in the circle. Best regards, Joćo in Lisboa, Portugal |
