Hi, Ziners - we have stayed many times at Villas Miramar in Zihua. It's right above Playa de la Madera with a beautiful view. The hotel is on both sides of the road - beach side and the other side. There are swimming pools on each side. It's a quick walk right into town but there are several restaurants nearby and it's also not far from Playa la Ropa. It has regular returning visitors year after year so make your reservations early.

You might also consider Hotel Catalina/Sotavento - I have not stayed there but it's a gorgeous setting on what I consider to be one of the best beaches in the world - Playa la Ropa

There is also a website at with lots of information and a message board where you can ask questions.

There are several excellent golf courses - my husband has played the one right across from the major hotels in Ixtapa many times - it's a Robert Trent Jones course. He always arranged for a taxi driver to pick him up at the crack of dawn and take him over there. It also has a very nice restaurant where you can get lunch, etc. You can also store your clubs there during your stay. We love to stay in Zihua - it's so quiet.
