|Subject: Re: Enterprise Rent-a-Car in England?|
Just for the heck of it, I checked a few rates (again), and I'm still a bit concerned about how much cheaper Enterprise is:
For an 18-day rental from/to Heathrow (May 7-25, 2004), the quotes I got are:
Enterprise - 333.71 pounds (~$580) Alamo (Through Sidestep.com) - 412.94 pounds (~$720) British Car Rental - 432.09 pounds (~$755) Europcar - 1966.74 pounds!!! (~$3430) (I tried it twice!) Avis (Through an agency I sometimes use) - ~$1000
Only the Enterprise is an Automatic, which is a big plus for me in Britain. A couple of weeks ago, a rate from Dollar showed up on Sidestep that was about $50 higher than Enterprise, but it's gone now.
I've made the reservation with Enterprise even though it sounds too good to be true.
By the way, thanks for the tip about driving into London. I've done that once and I don't particularly feel like repeating the experience.
