A friend is off to Paris to celebrate her 40th the week of Dec 28 - Jan 6.

I got sticker shock when I heard the price of the hotels that she has been quoted, around 200 euros a night for 3 star accomodations.

Any recommendations for hotels that I could pass along would be greatly appreciated. She would prefer something in the 6th district (?) latin quarter. Also what would be the general price range of these hotels, and what taxes if any could she expect to add onto the quoted rate...
