Subject: Art in London
Hi Ziners,

If you will be in London before January 11th, you might want to see Turner and Venice at the Tate Britain. It brings together JMW Turner's paintings of Venice with contemporary paintings of the same subjects as well as Canaletto and other painters who influenced Turner. Fee for the exhibit. The main collection is free. http://www.tate.org.uk/home/default.htm

In the Tate Modern on the South Bank, we saw The Weather Project, a huge installation by Olafur Elliasson in the Turbine Hall. The huge space is lit by a sun with the entire ceiling mirrored. The sun is the type of street lighting that bleaches out all the colour. There was fog and a humming sound surrounded you. Free. Good restaurant on the main floor.
