Subject: Re: Going to Germany; any suggestions?
dear barbara,

I agree that rothenburg is like disney land and very touristy, but if you don't want to miss it, I offer this suggestion. get there very early and leave by noon-time. we did this last Christmas season and it worked. by noon, rothenburg is over-run with tour buses; extremely crowded. as an alternate suggestion to nordlingen (which I visited) I recommend

dinklesbuhl. to me, nordlingen has superior town walls and some interesting architecture, but not much else. I prefer dinklesbul; it's larger, beautiful and pretty devoid of tourists. we agree with baerbel relative to bad wimpfen. the upper town is spectacular!

good luck! barry and denise in abnormally frigid new jersey
