Baerbel, I understand your point of view. I want to see the real Germany. And, at the same time, I don't want to miss anything
famous! Such a dilemma! I did want to see the Crime and Punishment
Museum in Rothenburg; the Christmas store I can live without. Maybe somehow I can just stop in Rothenburg for that museum.
I also want to walk on a medieval wall. Looks like in Nordlingen a person can walk all the way around the town on the walls.

Also, I think I'm going to try to make it over to the Mosel River instead of the Rhine.
Does anyone know if it's possible to leave luggage at the train
stations in Germany? I hope to travel with only my carry-on suitcase and my daypack. I'd leave the carry-on at the train station and take the daypack with me to the sights.
