Subject: Re: Movies
Hi Lucy,

most of Dr. Zhivago was filmed in Spain. The beginning, when Alec Guinness talks to Lara´s daughter, is set in the Aldeadávila dam. We visited it when we were kids, and I´m still afraid of its huge size : http://tinyurl.com/2r5xm .And then, the train sequences were filmed in Soria forests (although as they were filming during summer, they couldn´t enjoy the real cold you can find in those woods ...). http://www.soria-goig.org/rincones/index.htm

During my trip to India in 2000, I was lucky enough to visit one of the palaces that appears in Far Pavillions. Samode is a small jewel located among the hills, with painted walls and carved columns. It is also a hotel, so maybe one of our Ziners has stayed there : http://www.samode.com/

Kind regards,
