|Subject: Four days in Japan|
It has just come up that I may have a 3 or 4 day layover in Japan towards the end of February, (flying into Narita.)
Being the provincial Eurocentric traveller that I am, I admit to knowing absolutely nothing about travelling in Japan. Is a visit this short worthwhile? If so, should it all be spent in Tokyo? Should I forgo Tokyo all together, and maybe stay in a place like Kyoto? Any better locales for a short stay, that are also good bases for sightseeing?
I'm open to any and all suggestions-- things to do and see, hotels, transportation info . . .
Sorry about the vague nature of this inquiry. Japan is all Greek to me, and I must figure out a strategy rather soon.
Thanks. Joel, in Chicago
