Subject: Re: Transient Occupancy Taxes
Hi John, I ran into this about 2 years ago when renting a car in Toronto. (Something I seldom do because of the high cost). After having the car for a week, I went to pay and instead of the $350 or so I was quoted (I asked for the price including taxes), I got a bill that was almost $500. I just about fell over. The taxes made up the difference. There was an airport improvement tax, federal tax, provincial tax and some other levy I still don't understand. I am sure glad I was able to squeeze every mile out of the unlimited mileage. Donna Nanaimo www.naturepark.com
