Subject: Re: River Cruise Question
Dear Tom:

In the summer of 2000 I went to Russia via river cruise ship, the MS Viking Kirov. It was a marvelous experience. However, I don't know whether to attribute that to the Viking Cruise Line or Uniworld. That year Uniworld used the Viking ships for its tours of Russia. The Kirov had two Austrian chefs who were much praised for the delcious meals they served. Not one dud! The ladies liked the smallish portions. Some of the men complained at first, wanting larger portions. At each lunch and dinner, though, there was a buffet with many cheeses, breads, and fruit. No one needed to go hungry.

The entertainment was enjoyable. Cabins were small, but we used them only for sleeping as we were busy every day, all day.

I have never taken a cruise on the European rivers.
