Subject: Re: Arthur's Pass
Dear Judy, I have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge twice. The first time it was fabulous and the 2nd time, it was poorly run and I wouldn't recommend it. Our last visit was in 2000. However, there is not much in the way of accommodation in Arthur's Pass as I recall. There is that lodge and maybe one other place with the exception of a Hiker's Hotel (shared rooms, etc)

We love the area - as we do a great deal of hiking there. It's very rugged and beautiful but it's far from the Coast. It's gorgeous and we would return. We stayed in the Craigie Burn area, just a bit further, in a lodge situation but rented an apartment which gave fabulous views from the little porch. The lodge only serves food (excellent fare). If you'd like more information, please let me know. Regards, Susie Newton, MA
