I want to emphasize that especially for anyone going to Europe. ATMs seem to be inescapable; they're everywhere. I think the most gratifying for me was when I was visiting our ancestral family farm near a very small crossroads community in north central Finland. There, at the small bank branch, was an ATM that easily gave me Finnmarks.
Do beware of ATMs not associated with a bank. Like ATMs in convenience stores in America, these will charge you.
