Subject: Re: Euro vs Dollar

When I travel to a foreign country I *always* bring about $200. in local currency with me that I get here in the US before the trip. Now with so many countries using the Euro, I make sure I come home with about 200 Euro's (from an ATM) to have for the next trip.

I know many people disagree. But I've seen too many things that could go wrong, your experience is a perfect example. People rant that I'm being ripped off for an extra 1-3%. Well, for $200. worth of currency, that might amount to about $5.00. For the Five bucks, I'd rather arrive in a country with some local currency and not have to worry about it. Once there, I of course use the ATM's for more cash as needed.
