|Subject: Using the telephone in France|
I am going to Provence in a couple of months and will have to make a few phone calls while there, about accommodations. What is the best (least expensive) way to make local and long distance calls? For local calls, do pay phones take euro coins or do people buy phone cards to use in pay phones? What is the procedure for long distance, e.g. I will be calling from our place near Avignon to a town in the Luberon to confirm and tell them our arrival time.
Can I buy a phone card for calls in France, and is this the best way to go? I've never even used a phone card here in Canada!
Thanks from a very inexperienced traveller, Nancy Bowmanville, Ont, Canada
