Subject: Re: New York and Washington |
Greetings Barbara, Candice, Lucy & Ziners,
Living in Philadelphia we spend several weekends a year in
both New York and Washington DC.
As far as hotels in NYC, generally the NY Times or NYC Tourist
have good to average hotel deals, which we utilize when we can't
use our miles/points. On the Upper West side is a Comfort Inn
around 78th and Central Park West near museums, restaurants
and subway. Small yet clean and comfortable. Any friends we
send to NYC we heartily reccomend the Double Decker Sightseeing
Bus. With hop on & off priveliges and a two day pass coupled with
a night tour and entry to the Empire State Building it is a
bargain, in lieu of taxis.
When we travel to DC we generally stay in Arlinton, VA as the
Metro system runs in this area. The hotels are reasonable and
convienent. With the Metro you are about 10 minutes from the
major attractions in Washington. In the Arlington, VA area there
are many fine eateries and shopping areas.
