|Subject: Re: Safety and Overseas Travel (Egypt and other countries)|
I will send the 1st installment of my Egypt journal in the next email. The journal is long..34 papges.. & I write very small so I'm typing it a few pages at a time. On the security issue...I never felt threatened in Egypt. I always felt safe & well-looked after. I am a veteran traveler & have made probably 30 trips to Europe & am 63 years old. Both of those things are in my favor in travelling to Egypt. I don't frighten easily, have developed a good sense about what feels safe, & am old enough so the Arab men treated me with respect. Although I don't like tours, it is imperative, IMHO, to make some kind of arrangements before you travel to Egypt. Just having someone to transfer you from airport to hotel & guides for the various tourist sites is very helpful & removes hassle from travel there. I'm planning to go back in November or next January & cruise Lake Nasser. I loved Egypt. Don't be afraid to go.
More to come.
