Hi, Stewart and Ziners:
We spent 4 days in Nice in 2001. Besides the various museums, I'd recommend: 1)Hotel Negresco's Royal Salon - have a look at the magnificent chandelier Tsar Nicholas II ordered. 2)Russian Cathedral - Tsar Nicholas II built this church for his folks who wintered in Nice. Supposely one of the finest Russian church outside of Russia. 3)Cours Saleya - The flower and vegetable market Lucy mentioned. It is open Tuesday to Saturday. On Mondays, it turns into an antique market. 4)Rue Massena - (near Place Massena) is a delightful street full of restaurants, and some street-entertainment when weather is good. We also spent two days making day trips outside of Nice, to Monaco and to Cannes. There were so many day-trip options, I could have stayed for an additional week. Mei-Ching (Massachusetts) |
