Harry, This is a great idea and a challenge. You may want to read Michelangelo: In the Footsteps of the Master: An Account of Michelangelo's Life and Art for the Modern Traveler by Charles J. Washington. The author had the same idea as your wife and he takes the reader on a tour through Tuscany and Rome to view the artist's works along with a chronology and information on where he lived and died.
