Subject: Re: Glasgow - where to stay and eat
Hi, Lucy

It all depends on your budget and interests! Glasgow is a wonderful city to visit.

If you are interested in Charles Rennie MacIntosh loads to see. We have several good museums and art galleries though our main

one is closed for renovation :-(. You can, however, see a representative part of the collection in the McLellan galleries in Sauchiehall St.

We are supposed to be the best shopping centre outside London. There are good hotels at all levels of cost as well as several good B&Bs, near the centre of town.

We have a good sightseeing tour of the city by bus, in fact there are at least two companies doing this.

If you are interested in architecture it is still one of the finest for Victorian buildings.

Lots of good restaurants for all tastes-Scottish, ltalian, Chinese, Indian, Thai, French-the lot.

If you are on a budget a good tip is that a lot have pre-theatre menus from about 5.30 - 7.30 which are just as good and cheaper than their a la cartes later in the evening.

Let me know if you wish more detailed info-glad to help.
