|Subject: Tours in Rome and Florence|
Frank and I are traveling to both cities in June and are uncertain as to whether we should take the guided tours of the Vatican, Borghese Gallery, the Uffizi, Colosseum, Palantine Hill, etc., etc., offered by AE and others. It is much costlier than purchasing individual or combo tickets, but is it worth the difference in cost? We'd be very interested in knowing more about your experiences and recommendations.
By the way, I'm reading Michelangelo and the Pope's Ceiling by Ross King. It's a fascinating account of the times, the people, and the process of creating the Sistine Chapel. A bit of trivia from the book--the name was chosen in honor of Pope Sixtus IV.
