Susan,
We like to use Rick Steves guide, MONA WINKS, for museums,
etc. It
lets us go at our own pace, points out so many interesting things
we
probably wouldn't pick up on otherwise, and helps us not miss
the biggies before our eyes and minds glaze over. And, of course,
you're not locked into it and can spend more time on what you're
particularly interested in. It also has good tips on best entrances
to use, times to go, how to get there using public transportation,
and eating facilities. We found it very useful for the Colosseum,
Forum, Pantheon, St. Peter's, and the Vatican museum in Rome and the Accademia, Bargello, and Medici Chapels in Florence. We did take a guided tour of the Uffizi. Angie-in Kansas |
