I agree that staying awake is the best cure for jet lag. I also find it helpful to take a nice hot shower when I check into my hotel. It certainly helps if the weather is warm enough for long walks. If you start to flag, sit on a park bench, stop in a cafe, or hop on a bus and ride around. My husband and I just got back from Venice and on our first day there, we kept ourselves so well occupied that before we knew it, it was 10pm! In fact we were so active the whole time we were there (just four days) that I hardly noticed the jet lag. However, now that I'm home I'm paying for it!
