Subject: Re: Panama Canal Cruises
Jim, Last year, we cruised on Celebrity's Mercury from Miami for seven days visiting places in Mexico, Grand Cayman and Key West. We would definitely travel on the line again (we have been on Sunquest and Royal Carribean ships in the past). We booked the cheapest cabin possible - inside, lower deck - and it was a bit noisy for the first two nights but surprisingly roomy.

Service was excellent and the food quite good and varied, with the options of formal or casual dining in the evenings. We didn't bother with the evening entertainment, preferring to linger over our meals, walk around the decks and drop into the casino from time to time. We had no trouble finding a good spot around the pool on sea days despite the fact that there were a lot of passengers. The spa was great, but if you want to indulge, you should book all your treatments for the week on the day you board because it fills up quickly. Celebrity tends to have quite a mix of travellers - seniors and some families. Boarding procedures were quick, organized and friendly and the crew made every effort to get folks into the cruise mood even before we stepped foot on the ship. Lucy, Toronto
