Hi Pauline,
The Hampton Inn on Carondelet is reasonably priced and is
well located, in the French Quarter. It gets good reviews
on tripadvisor: http://makeashorterlink.com/?R4D6154E7
http://www.neworleanshamptoninns.com/ As for nearby music, there is Preservation Hall... Admission $5.00 per person: http://www.preservationhall.com/band.html I talked to a woman from New Orleans, and she said that Mother's at 401 Poydras St.(tel. 504/523-9656) is the place that has the best Po' Boys, and Central Grocery Store at 923 Decatur Street @ Dumaine Street is said to have the best place for Mufalettas. Historic New Orleans Walking Tours has some interesting looking tours, at least, one of which includes Lafayette Cemetery: http://www.tourneworleans.com/ Best, Sandy in Illinois |
