If you're going the weekend of May 1-2, you should definitely go to the Jazz Fest! It's terrific.

On the other hand, as Mark suggested, if you don't already have a hotel room it may be too late to book.

(I had a hard time finding a place to stay when I booked a couple of months ago.)
