Dear Pat & Fellow Ziners,
Forgive me, I'm a bit behind on email, its tax season you know :-). The book Anne of Canberra recommends, Fodor's Around Paris with Kids, is excellent. We visited Paris last June with our then 8 year old daughter. This guidebook mentions places no other book does, it's pocket sized, and recommends an eatery near each destination. One thing I'm very glad we did was visit the Luxumbourg Gardens, there is a beautiful shady playground there. Had we had more time, I would have liked to go out to the Bois de Vincennes, where there is a zoo, garden, chateau, etc. for the opportunity to observe Parisians at leisure. Our daughter is a city child, and used to walking everywhere. She loved climbing up the Tower at Notre Dame, and to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Most kids love the Pompidou Center, its cool to ride the escalator on the outside of the building, no admission required. Have fun! Elizabeth, in Chicago |
