|Subject: Re: McDonald's in a foreign country|
Back in the 1980's when I was living in Germany, we were talking about McDonald's in our German class. In Germany, beer was served in McDonald's and we Americans mentioned that in the USA McDonald's didn't serve alcoholic beverages.
Our teacher was agast. She blurted out, But what do you use to wash down the crap they serve?
I have to admit that Wendy's chili tasted better in Brussels than it did in California, perhaps because in Brussels you could have a beer with it.
Another McD's story. My husband was in a German hospital for two days for medical tests. The food there must have been really bad. How bad was it? When he called me to pick him up at nine o'clock in the morning he asked me to stop by McDonald's on the way and get him a couple of Egg McMuffins for him to eat on his way to work.
