As Linda says there are many different keyboards in Europe, and sometimes it can be very frustating. However you can always write the char you want by using the ALT key + zero + the char's ASCII number on the numeric keypad. Try for instance: ALT + 064 and you get the @, which is number 64 in the table. Remember that NumLock must be on!
