Hi Maria and other Ziners, My ATM card is not a debit card either. I don't like that and made the bank take it back and send me the old-fashioned kind! I have used it in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome and Tokyo with no problem at all. I have a four digit PIN. I don't know why the bank teller would have said that. On another forum I read about problems people have with US banks giving wrong information about using their cards abroad. However, you must have your ATM card linked to your checking account.
