Subject: Re: Train travel in Canada |
I've been across and back 4 times. Twice by CP Rail - 1960 and
1983, and twice by CN (now VIA) Rail - 1968 and 1993.
The CP route through the Rockies is much more spectacular but
is
only accessible now by the Rocky Mountaineer Train Tours.
Going through Jasper with VIA Rail offers you the chance to head North to Prince George and Prince Rupert on the Skeena, a daylight travel only train. You disembark and stay over in a Prince George hotel of your choosing. I am a Train Buff and will be pleased to answer any questions. Peter Montreal, Canada |
