Subject: RE: Italian or French?
Paul,

Definitely go with the French. As everyone else has said, you won't find the Italian as handy in France as one might think. If you were spending the majority of your time in the Riviera near the Italian border, you might have better luck, but since you'll be in Paris most of the time, do your best to get by with French and English.

Even though I speak enough Italian, whenever I encounter French-speaking people in Italy, we communicate better in English, not Italian.

Ciao, Kristy S.F.
