We have stayed at the Riverside Hilton on a number of occasions.
Though it's just another anonymous hotel, it is situated far enough
away from the French Quarter to be quieter. The Riverside Walk shops,
the Aquarium and the riverside park are at the door. We usually walk
to the French Quarter through the park, which is much nicer than
walking up Poydras. It's also a short walk to Charles Street where
you can hop on the streetcar and visit the Garden District or go to
the Zoo.
We have stayed in the French Quarter as well, but prefer the Riverside. See my message #32496 about our visit to New Orleans last year. Lucy, Toronto |
